I usually check out the close circuit cameras at site a few times a day. Since I cant visit Nandi Hills everyday, this gives me a visual pulse of what's happening on the ground - excavation, bar bending, shuttering and so on.
Of course, the cameras are also intended to be a deterrent against any monkey business on site - I can track whether workers are following safety norms to protect themselves as well as others and to avoid any material at site mysteriously disappearing. In general, we have a good team - they come to the site at the crack of dawn and are often there till dusk especially when concrete pouring or any other externally dependent activity gets delayed.
This morning I noticed that one of the cameras seemed to have moved and was pointing down rather than at the site. Our cameras are quite securely mounted and are at a height above the site - Was this done by someone at site or was this a result of strong wind or a loose fitting, I wondered.
Looking thru the video, I realised that we were dealing with a curious and overactive visitor - check this out for yourself !
